JESSE ALLEN BLAKEMAN JR.
March 27, 1930- October 16, 2016
Jesse Allen Blakeman Jr., 86, of Dry Creek, Louisiana, formerly of Morgan City, Louisiana, passed to eternal rest on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, in DeRidder, Louisiana.
He was born March 27, 1930, in Amelia, Louisiana, to the late Jesse A. Blakeman Sr. and Annie Jackson Blakeman. Jesse was a retired Assistant Chief of Police for the Morgan City Police Department.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 68 years, Eva M. St.Germain Blakeman; his son, Jesse G. Blakeman and wife Beth; his daughters, JoAnn Deborde and husband JR, and Kathy Hebert and husband Ron; two brothers, Timothy Blakeman Sr., and Frank Blakeman and wife Euna; his sister, Ramona Crochet and husband Anthony; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Roger Dale Blakeman; his brothers, Amoron Blakeman, Joseph Blakeman and James Blakeman; and his sister, Wendover Anne Domangue.
Visitation will be at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, Louisiana, today, Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, from 5 to 8 p.m. with a rosary at 6 p.m. There will also be a visitation continuing on Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City, Louisiana. A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, at 9 a.m. followed by a procession and graveside service at the Morgan City Cemetery. Jesse will be laid to rest next to his son, Roger.
