JUDY MARIE BOBBITT
August 15, 1951- July 19, 2015
Judy Marie Bobbitt, 63, a lifelong resident of Berwick, passed away July 19, 2015, at Teche Regional Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 15, 1951, in Shreveport, the daughter of Norvell Bobbitt and Velma Boudreaux Bobbitt, and granddaughter of Lazieme Boudreaux and Maggie Smith Boudreaux.
A 1969 graduate of Berwick High School, she was an employee of the St. Mary Parish Library System and retired with 30 years of service. She enjoyed working and continued in various jobs while her health permitted.
Judy was devoted to her parents and grandparents, and was never happier than when she was surrounded by family. She was very outgoing and had a number of loyal and dedicated longtime friends who helped her in many ways through the years. Judy was also an excellent cook and rightly proud of her house, which she kept meticulously.
She is sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sister, Joan Bobbitt McLaughlin of Clemson, South Carolina; niece, Susanna Thomas Merriman; great-nieces and great-nephew, Erica L. Britenburg, Morgan T. Merriman, Alexis T. Merriman, and Jordan T. Britenburg, all of Anderson, South Carolina; uncle, Bobby Lightell of Mantee, Mississippi; and cousins, Margaret Romaire of Morgan City and Luella Smith of Berwick.
Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Friday, March 18, 2016. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at 2 p.m., celebrated by the Rev. Greg Fratt. A private inurnment will be held in the Berwick Cemetery.
