Funeral services for Lena Solar Breaux will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson during a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial. She will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Msgr. Douglas Courville will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson, Monday, April 6, 2015, from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m., with the rosary being prayed at 6:30 p.m., led by Terry Burgess and Jamie Guidry. Visiting hours will resume at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church and continue until time of Mass.
A native of Bayou Melhomne and a longtime resident of Patterson, Lena passed away peacefully at Teche Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at 5:10 a.m. surrounded by her loving family.
She was a devout Catholic and her Faith was Her Rock. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, with a strong devotion to the Blessed Mother.
Lena was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, who will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her. She was a genuine person who never met a stranger, loved spending time with her family and friends, and retired from Walmart after 28 years of service.
She is survived by her children, Donald “Don” J. Breaux, and Madeline “Maddy” Couvillier and her husband Justin; her siblings, Emile Solar and his wife Faye, Calvin Solar, Vina Glynn, Leona Davis, Flavia Lodrigue and Evelyn Duval; her grandchildren, Jenny Kelly, Toney Wade Jr. and his wife Michelle, Shanon Wade Sr. and his wife Debbie, and Alisa Lang and her husband William; her great-grandchildren, Philip DiMaggio, Shanon Wade Jr., Ryan Wade, Alayna Marreel, Emily Patterson, Luke Patterson and Jessa Wade; and three stepgreat-grandchildren, Blake, Brett and Bailey Dreyer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy J. Breaux; her daughter, Oline B. Kelly; one granddaughter, Tiffany Kelly; her parents, Emile J. and Pauline Giroir Solar; and her siblings, Robert Solar and Liz S. Stansbury.
Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Glynn, Toney Wade Jr., Ryan Wade, Shanon Wade Sr., Luke Patterson and William Lang.
