LLOYD JAMES SAUCE SR.
January 1, 1948-August 24, 2015
Lloyd James Sauce Sr., 67, a resident of Ricohoc, passed away on Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, at Teche Regional Medical Center.
Lloyd was born on Jan. 1, 1948, in Morgan City, the son of Robert J. and Gertrude E. Duval Sauce.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed crawfishing, fishing, and hunting the land. Lloyd was a tug boat captain for 34 years with Garber Brothers and Double Eagle. He enjoyed being at the Wax Lake boat landing with his best friend, Lester Aucoin, as they fulfilled their duties as caretakers of the boat ramp.
Lloyd enjoyed working on outboard motors and everyone would bring him their motor to work on and, most of the time, he never charged a dime because he just loved helping people.
Of all the things Lloyd did in his life, spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren was what he loved the most. He especially loved telling his grandchildren stories. Some of those stories were scary, but most of them were silly stories that made his grandchildren laugh.
Lloyd will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Mary Richard Sauce of Ricohoc; four children, Peggy Sue Pike, Lloyd J. Sauce Jr. and wife Dina, Clayborne K. Sauce, and Eddie Norman Jr. and wife Kacy, all of Ricohoc; seven grandchildren, Donald Melancon III, Jesica Sauce, Dillan Melancon, Brody Sauce, Dakota Sauce, Autumn Norman and Kelsey Norman; and four great-grandchildren, Carson Cox, Carter Cox, Madison Melancon and Carolann Guerin. Lloyd is also survived by one sister, Dale Businelle; and two brothers, Robert Sauce and Clyde Sauce.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Barbara Ann Meredith; and one brother, Francis Sauce.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015, at Twin City Funeral Home with visitation resuming from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
Following services, Lloyd will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
