MAUDE ESTHER JONES-EDWARDS

Mrs. Maude Esther Jones-Edwards, 102, a resident of Patterson and native of Rosedale, LA, died Thursday, February 18, 2016, at 9:18 a.m., at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City following a short illness.
Visitations will be observed Saturday, Feb. 27, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., at New Mt. Horeb Baptist Church in Franklin.
Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 11 a.m., at the church, with the Rev. James F. Otis officiating. Interment will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Henry Smith Jr. of Greenbelt, MD; a devoted granddaughter, Mrs. Dorothy W. Wilson (her husband, Olton “Pete”) of Patterson; 13 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; 23 great great grandchildren; and five great great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, two sisters, one daughter and four grandchildren.
The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
