RAYMOND ANTHONY BLANCHARD

Raymond Anthony Blanchard, 64, a native of Theriot and a resident of Chauvin, Louisiana, died Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Tulane Medical Center at 6:30 p.m.
Raymond served in the United States Army 1st Infantry Division, “The Big Red One,” 1970-1974, stationed in Fort Riley, Kansas. He was a former employee of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Department and a former member of the Montegut Lions Club.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Samart Funeral Home of Houma from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Samart Funeral Home of Houma from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.
Religious services will follow on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Samart Funeral Home of Houma at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in Rogers Cemetery in Houma.
Raymond is survived by two daughters, Tessie B. Mendoza and husband Marshall Jr. of Patterson and Alicia B. Dupre and husband Steve “T-Boo” Jr. of Bourg; two brothers, Gerald Blanchard and wife Yvette Ledet Blanchard of Pointe Aux Chene and Cornelius Blanchard and wife Martha Roger Blanchard of Gray; and three sisters, Iris B. Peeples and husband Johnny of Independence, Virginia, Juanita B. Authement and husband Rodney of Chauvin, and Virgie Lee Blanchard of North Carolina.
Raymond also is survived by his grandchildren, James Warden and wife Ashley Walker Warden of Patterson, Brittney Marcel and fiancée Randal Billiot of Morgan City, Heather Mendoza Rodrigue and husband Brendon of Patterson, Eliza Naquin and companion Vincent Stafford Jr. of Houma, Chelsea Dupre of Bourg, Jayde Dupre of Bourg and Mallory Mendoza of Patterson; great-grandchildren, Carsyn Garces, London Billiot of Morgan City, Kole Warden, Lainee Rodrigue, Makenna Rodrigue of Patterson and Deondre’ Stafford of Houma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgis Blanchard Sr. and Eunice Liner Blanchard; grandparents, Essie Blanchard and Celesida Thibodaux, and Clifford Liner and Bernadette Lirette Liner; and a brother, Virgis Blanchard Jr.
In lieu of flowers, donations to help with funeral expenses are requested.
