ROBERT BENJAMIN PEREZ

March 2, 1940 - August 22, 2015
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, at 10 a.m. for Mr. Robert Benjamin Perez, 75. The service will be officiated by Deacon Patrick Burke of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in New Iberia. The graveside service and burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery in New Iberia. There will be no visitation at the funeral home prior to the service.
Mr. Perez was born in Thibodaux on March 2, 1940, and had lived in New Iberia since 2008. He was a world traveler, an avid reader, and lifelong learner. He enjoyed his visits to the casino. He especially loved his nieces and nephews. In his adult years, he worked for a utility company as an engineer.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Mark Charbonnet for the loving care during Mr. Perez’s illness.
Left behind to cherish his memory are a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to thank a special niece, Trinna Perez Boatman.
Mr. Perez was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Perez of Chackbay, Louisiana, and Anna Cortez of Kraemer, Louisiana. He had four brothers and four sisters, all deceased. The four brothers include Anatole, Rodney, Calise and Leroy Perez. The four sisters include Mary Ann Hannah, Rita Thibodeaux, Pearl Thibodeaux and Gretel Brock.
Pallbearers will include family and friends.
