RONALD ‘SLIM’ PINELL

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 5, 2016, at 10 a.m., at Calvary Pentecostal Church in Jeanerette for Ronald “Slim” Pinell, a native of Louisa and a longtime resident of Franklin, who passed away at the age of 74 on Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Ochsner Foundation in New Orleans.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, June 4, at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will resume Sunday at the church at 8 a.m. and continue until service time. He will be laid to rest at Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette. The Rev. A.L. Lyles will conduct the services.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Josie DeRouen Pinell; three children, Brenda Blanchard and her husband, A.J.; Ronald Pinell Jr. and his wife, Leah; and Joann Pinell and her companion, Klint Parro; his mother, Mabel Guillotte Pinell Alexander; six siblings, Harry Pinell and his wife, Laquita; Barbara Thibodeaux, Jackie Alexander and his wife, Jessie; Arlen Alexander and his wife, Cathy; Dolores Williams and her husband, Jessie; and William “Charles” Pinell and his wife, Liz; 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and his beloved dog, T-Boy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Pinell Sr.; his stepfather, T.C. Alexander; a son-in-law, Hien Nguyen; a sister, Lois Pinell Firmin; and a brother-in-law, Junius Thibodeaux.
