Mr. Beverly Jules Thomas, 77, passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, at Morgan City Healthcare Center.
Mr. Thomas was an accountant and owner of oilfield-related boat rentals. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. He was active in the Kiwanis and Elks clubs, a Berwick City Councilman, and President of the Berwick Volunteer Fire Department.
Mr. Thomas is a veteran of the United States Air Force and earned his bachelor’s degree from USL. He was a dear friend of Wade Cantrell, enjoying some of his best days fishing in Grand Isle, Louisiana.
He was born Oct. 23, 1928, in Berwick, Louisiana, the son of Beverly Cloyde Thomas and Gussie Ann Thorguson Thomas.
Mr. Thomas is survived by his special friend and caregiver, Theresia Allbritton; his son, Miles Bennett Thomas of Lafayette, Louisiana; one brother, Lars Leslie Levy and wife, Samantha, of Morgan City; son-in-law, Paul Bouillion and companion, Melissa, of Prairieville, Louisiana; and five grandchildren, Bennett, Conrad, Maggie, Michael, and Matthew. Added to these are many great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins, and friends.
Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Mavis Mabile Thomas; his daughter, Beverly Ann Thomas Bouillion; two brothers, John Gunder Thomas and Guy Gabriel Thomas; his parents, Beverly Cloyde Thomas and Gussie Ann Thorguson; and stepfather, Leslie Levy.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, at St. Stephen Catholic Church until the time of Mass at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the Berwick Cemetery Mausoleum.
