MCOFR board expresses thanks

May 12, 2016
Letter to Editor:
The 4th Annual Morgan City Fishing Rodeo was held Saturday, May 7, 2016. It was a successful day filled with fishing, family and fun. The event was held at the Patterson Civic Center where food, music and fish weigh-ins were enjoyed by all.
A total of 99 boats participated this year and we hope to continue growth in the years to come. The MCOFR Board of Directors would like to extend a big “Thank You” to all of the sponsors and volunteers, especially the distinguished weigh masters, Mr. Bob McHugh and Mr. Sterling Fryou, who made this a great experience for all who participated.
The MCOFR is proving to be truly a community event as witnessed by the solid support of the South Central Louisiana Technical College (Young Memorial) and students, Nicholls State University, as well as The Chamber of Commerce, several area banks and local businesses.
With your support, MCOFR is able to make sizable donations to the Nicholls State University Petroleum Tech Services program, South Central Louisiana Technical College-Young Memorial educations program and to the Boy Scouts who assisted by providing weigh-in assistance, set up/clean up, and other details the day of the event.
The fishing rodeo results may be viewed on the MCOFR website, www.mcofr.com and on Facebook, where you can find pictures of the event, program contributions, and general information.
We are already looking forward to the 5th Annual Morgan City Oilfield Fishing Rodeo which will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium! If you are interested in supporting this great cause by volunteering your time, please email us at mcofr@yahoo.com
