MCHS, CCHS meet on tennis courts

Morgan City and Central Catholic squared off on the tennis courts Wednesday in Morgan City.
In girls singles action, Central Catholic’s Lindsee Case defeated Morgan City’s Jolee Nini, 8-0, while Central Catholic’s Kerrilyn Luc topped Morgan City’s Faith Crappell, 8-4. In other singles action, Morgan City’s Emily Boudreaux defeated Central Catholic’s Elise Daigle, 8-4, while Morgan City’s Caylee Deshotel was victorious against Central Catholic’s Sarah Price, 8-0. Morgan City’s Alexia Morgan defeated Central Catholic’s Kate Navarro, 8-6.
In girls doubles action, Morgan City’s Krystina Pitre and Bailee Hoggatt defeated Central Catholic’s Ashley Daigle and Emma Thomas, 6-4, 6-4, while Morgan City’s Crappell and Nini defeated Elise Daigle and Navarro, 8-1. Deshotel and Emily LaCoste were victorious 8-3 against Price and Grace Granger.
Central Catholic’s Luc and Case defeated LaCoste and Katelyn Gautreaux, 8-1, in another doubles match.
On the boys side, Central Catholic’s Connor Hebert defeated Morgan City’s Zach Ingram, 8-0, while Central Catholic’s Jon Gilmore was victorious against Morgan City’s Brandon Rock, 8-1.
In other singles action, Central Catholic’s Gavin Wisdome topped Morgan City’s Blake Singleton, 8-0, while Central Catholic’s Luke Brinkley defeated Morgan City’s Tyler Hebert, 8-4.
In doubles action, Central Catholic’s Gilmore and Wisdome defeated Singleton and Hebert, 8-1, while Central Catholic’s Hebert and Brinkley topped Morgan City’s Jaden Breaux and Brandon Rock, 8-2.
On Tuesday, Morgan City met Berwick on the tennis courts.
In girls singles action, Morgan City’s Harleigh Price defeated Berwick’s Maddie Osburn, 6-1, 6-3, while Morgan City’s Niki Ring defeated Berwick’s Mary Reggie, 6-1, 6-0.
In other singles action, Berwick’s Adela Guidroz defeated Morgan City’s Morgan, 8-3.
In girls doubles action, Morgan City’s Pitre and Hoggatt defeated Berwick’s Mary Grace Hymel and Guidroz, 6-1, 6-2, while Morgan City’s LaCoste and Gautreaux topped Berwick’s Natalie Mayon and Natalie Bourgeois, 7-5, 6-4.
In other girls doubles action, Morgan City’s Crappell and Nini defeated Berwick’s Anna Armato and Allie Billiot, 6-3, 6-2, while Morgan City’s Deshotel and Boudreaux defeated Berwick’s Gabbie Robichaux and Macie Landry, 8-1.
In boys singles action, Berwick’s Brandon Benedatto defeated Ingram, 6-1, 6-1, while Berwick’s Josh Sanford topped Rock, 6-3, 6-1.
In boys doubles action, Berwick’s Cade Thibodaux and Steven Theriot were victorious, 6-0, 6-0 against Breaux and Luke Matherne, while Berwick’s Beau Boudreaux and Austin Cavalier defeated Hebert and Singleton, 6-0, 6-0.
Morgan City’s Ingram and Rock won their doubles match, 8-5.

In boys singles action, Catholic High’s Nick Viator defeated Central Catholic’s Hebert, 8-4, while Catholic High’s Web Broussard topped Gilmore, 9-8.
In boys doubles action, Catholic High’s Adam Mannina and Jack Germany defeated Wisdom and Gilmore, 8-3, while La LeBeblac and Viator defeated Hebert and Brinkley, 8-6.
In girls doubles action, Central Catholic’s Thomas and Case defeated Catholic High’s Lauren Mixon and Paige Stansbury, 7-6, 6-2, while Catholic High Sarah Bourgeois and Grace Snellgrove defeated Luc and Navarro, 6-1, 6-0. Catholic High’s Sarah Cousin and Kate Russell defeated Granger and Elise Daigle, 6-2, 6-2.
In girls singles action, Catholic High’s Madeline Mixon defeated Central Catholic’s Ashley Daigle, 6-0, 6-0, while Catholic High’s Laura Delcambre defeated Price, 6-0, 6-0.
