Franklin’s Caffery Park hosting District 3 Tournaments starting tonight

Franklin’s Caffery Park will be the host site for the both 2015 District 3-AAA Dixie Youth Baseball Tournament and the 2015 District Major Tournament starting at 5:30 tonight. The tournaments are set for July 9 through July 13 at Caffery Park.
The 2015 District 3-AAA Tournament (10-year-olds) will play two games tonight with action slated for 5:30 and 7:30.
In the opener, the Patterson All-Stars will square off against the host Franklin All-Stars at 5:30 p.m. In the second game, the Morgan City All-Stars will battle the St. Mary Central All-Stars at 7:30 p.m.
Action in the 2015 District 3-Major Tournament (12-year-olds) will also open tonight with games at 5:30 and 7:30. In the 5:30 p.m. contest, the Morgan City All-Stars will battle the Patterson All-Stars. In the nightcap, the St. Mary Central All-Stars will take on the Franklin All-Stars at 7:30.
Five teams will be vying for the 2015 District 3-AAA Tournament Title in a round-robin format. Teams qualifying for the District Tournament include: Patterson, Morgan City, St. Mary Central, Thibodaux and host Franklin.
Each team will play four of five nights with games scheduled Thursday, July 9 through Monday, July 13.
Friday’s action in the District 3 – AAA Tournament will pit Patterson against Thibodaux at 5:30 p.m. and Franklin against SMC at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday’s action opens earlier during the day with SMC and Thibodaux squaring off at 2 p.m. prior to Franklin and Morgan City playing at 4 p.m.
Sunday’s action will send Morgan City against Thibodaux at 2 p.m. before Patterson and SMC battle at 4 p.m.
Monday’s final day of action has Patterson and Morgan City battling at 5:30 p.m. before Franklin plays Thibodaux at 7:30 p.m.
The 2015 District 3 – Major Tournament will also follow the round-robin format with the five teams competing four of five nights between Thursday, July 9 through Monday, July 13.
Teams competing for the District 3 – Major Tournament title are: Morgan City, Patterson, St. Mary Central, Thibodaux and Franklin.
The Major Tournament opens play tonight with Morgan City squaring off against Patterson at 5:30 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., SMC will take on host Franklin.
Action continues in the Major Tournament on Friday at 5:30 p.m. when Morgan City plays Thibodaux. In Friday’s nightcap, Patterson takes on Franklin at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday’s Major Tournament has Franklin playing Thibodaux at 2 p.m. prior to Patterson taking on SMC at 4 p.m.
Sunday’s Major Tournament action will send SMC against Thibodaux in the 2 p.m. opener before Morgan City battles Franklin at 4 p.m.
Monday’s action has Morgan City taking on SMC at 5:30 p.m. before Patterson squares off against Thibodaux.
