Tiger Sharks defeat Cypress Chicks

Laborde Marine Tiger Sharks defeated GameDay Pizza Cypress Chicks 9-8 in 10U Patterson Babe Ruth softball action Thursday at Kemper Williams Park.
Zorrie Spain led the Tiger Sharks with a 1-for-1 performance with an inside-the-park home run and a run, while Kylee Richoux also was 1-for-1. Other top contributors included Emily Lipari and Mikah Ortiz, who each scored two runs; and Alyssa Perkins, Janiyah Thomas, Peyton Skiles and Kayla Jones each with a run.
Lipari earned the win for the Tiger Sharks, striking out five.
Also Thursday in 12U action, the PSB Mystics defeated the Ocean Marine Wolfpack 15-11.
Aubreisha Augeam led PSB with a 1-for-1 performance with a double, two RBIs and two runs, while Amber Demers finished 1-for-1 with two runs and Emma Grace Marin and Iriah Taylor each 1-for-1 with a run. Other top contributors included Sarah Byrd and Anastajah Clossen, each two runs, and Natalie Mayon, Makenna Lagarde, Breanna Williams, Selena Charles and Justis Peters, all one run.
Lagarde pitched two innings for PSB and surrendered six runs on three hits with seven walks and struck out two, while Sarah Byrd pitched an inning and surrendered five runs on one hit with five walks.
In the loss, Patrice Bazile led the squad with a 1-for-2 performance with a triple, two RBIs and a run, while Sierra Everitt was 1-for-1 with a double and two runs. Other top contributors included Aymie Pearce, 1-for-1, an RBI and two runs; Deanna Carrington, 1-for-1, a run; Esherine Hines, two runs; and Sania Paul, Shalyn Jones, and Kila Stansbury, each a run.
Maddy Harrington and Carrington each pitched for Ocean Marine. Harrington went two innings and surrendered 11 runs on three hits with 10 walks and fanned two, while Carrington pitched an inning and surrendered four runs on a hit with three walks.
