Vernon Norwood anchored Team USA to a title in the 4x400-meter relay at the IAAF World Indoor Championships Sunday at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland.
LSU's Vernon Norwood heads down the final straightaway for a national title in the 400-meter dash earlier this month in Eugene, Oregon. Norwood returned to Eugene last week and qualified to represent Team USA at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China, in late August. He finished third in the finals Saturday in 44.80 to qualify. He also will participate at the world event as a member of Team USA's 4x400-meter relay.
