The Central Catholic High School volleyball team returns a wealth of experience in 2016. The team finished its 2015 season with a 19-22 mark, falling in the second round of the Division V postseason to eventual state runner-up Ascension Episcopal. CCHS volleyball team young but experienced

Central Catholic’s volleyball team may just have three seniors and three juniors on its squad this season, but don’t be fooled by the squad’s youth in grade level. They have experience.

The Morgan City High School volleyball team will be looking to improve upon its 2015 season that it finished 11-22 and failed to make the playoffs for the first time since 2007. Morgan City will hosts its annual jamboree Thursday when it faces Central Catholic in junior varsity and varsity beginning at 4:30 p.m., Patterson in junior varsity and varsity beginning at 5:30 p.m. and Highland Baptist in junior varsity and varsity beginning at 7:30 p.m. Members of this year’s Morgan City team include, seated from left, Emily Boudreaux, Abby Reynaud, Brandi Albarado, Hannah Gros and Paige Loftin. Large senior class will lead Lady Tigers in 2016

Morgan City may have a large senior class this year, but the squad will feature plenty of youth on the court, too.

The Berwick High School Lady Panthers will be looking to build upon last season’s 14-19 mark. Berwick fell in the first round of the Division III playoffs to Lusher Charter. The Lady Panthers return an experienced squad this season. Berwick will participate in Thursday’s Morgan City Jamboree where it will face Patterson in junior varsity and varsity action, beginning at 3:30 p.m., Highland Baptist in junior varsity and varsity action beginning at 5:30 p.m., and West St. Mary in junior varsity and varsity action, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Berwick team members include, seated from left, Adella Guidroz, Jordan Lipari, Emma Hover, Mary Jordan Melancon, Sydney Aucoin, Rosalyn Gros and Hannah Henry.
