The No. 2 Central Catholic Lady Eagles will be looking to advance to their second consecutive Class 1A semifinal when they host their quarterfinal contest Thursday.

Central Catholic High School advanced to the Class 1A quarterfinals for the third straight year with a 43-25 victory against St. Mary on Monday at home. Guard Randi Brown led the Lady Eagles with a double-double with 26 points and 13 rebounds in the win. The Lady Eagles, Class 1A’s No. 2 seed, now will turn their attention to No. 7 seed Tensas, who Central Catholic will host Thursday at 5:30 p.m. (The Daily Review/Corwin Murray)

CCHS beats St. Mary, advances to quarters

No. 2 Central Catholic got off to a slow start without standout guard Meo Knight but regrouped to pull away from No. 15 St. Mary 43-25 Monday in Class 1A regional playoff action.

CCHS will host St. Mary tonight

Central Catholic will be entering its second-round playoff game against St. Mary tonight on the heels of blowout victory against Logansport in round 1.
