A 40-year-old Thibodaux woman was jailed on a warrant for prostitution stemming from an investigation into a complaint at a lounge in Amelia, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Danielle Jackson, 40, of the 400 block of Johnson Ridge Road in Thibodaux, was arrested at 11:51 a.m. Monday on a warrant for prostitution. Jackson was transported from the Terrebonne Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville on the warrant. The warrant stems from an investigation that began in July into a complaint of prostitution at a lounge on La. 182 in Amelia, Hebert said. Jackson was released on $1,000 bail.
Hebert reported responding to 41 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests relating to east St. Mary Parish:
—Lydia Cruz, 28, of the 900 block of Chestnut Drive in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:45 p.m. Monday on warrants for possession of marijuana second offense and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile, for failure to appear on the charge of illegal possession of stolen things and for failure to appear on the charge of simple criminal damage to property.
Narcotics detectives located Cruz at her residence on the warrant. Cruz was jailed with no bail set.
—Michael Brossette, 25, of the 100 block of Three B’s Lane in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 3:14 p.m. Monday for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of theft at a store in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store personnel that Brossette was seen concealing items beneath his shirt. Brossette was released on a summons to appear in court Nov. 24.
Morgan City Police Chief Michael Banks reported the following arrests:
—Jared Hope, 24, of Morgan City, was arrested at 9:31 p.m. Monday for no driver’s license, no insurance, stop sign violation, failure to use turn signal and possession of synthetic cannabinoids (marijuana).
—Karen Daigle, 47, of Morgan City, was arrested at 9:31 p.m. Monday for possession of synthetic cannabinoids (marijuana).
—Michael Sharp, 44, of Morgan City, was arrested at 9:31 p.m. Monday on a state of Arkansas hold for a parole violation
While on patrol in the area of Fourth and Arenz streets, police observed a vehicle travel through the intersection without stopping and made a left hand turn without signaling.
Police conducted a traffic stop and spoke to the driver, Hope, and the occupants of the vehicle.
While speaking to the occupants, officers observed a clear baggie that contained synthetic marijuana, Banks said. Upon searching the passengers, Daigle was found to possess synthetic marijuana in a coin purse she had in her possession, Banks said. Sharp was found to be wanted through the state of Arkansas for parole violation. All three were jailed.
—Randall Lejeune, 50, of Morgan City, was arrested at 11:34 p.m. Monday on a warrant for theft of goods.
While on patrol, officers came into contact with Lejeune at the intersection of Sixth and Louisiana streets. A warrant check was done and it was found that Lejeune was wanted through Morgan City police on an outstanding warrant of theft of goods valued at $294.80.
According to the warrant, Lejeune was identified in video surveillance committing a theft of electrical related products from a La. 182 hardware store, Banks said. Lejeune was jailed.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrest:
—Russell Eues, 32, of the 400 block of Mike Drive in Patterson, was arrested at 5:02 p.m. Monday for simple battery-domestic. Eues is still in jail.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported the following arrest:
—Javien Francis, 17, of Oregon Street in Berwick, was arrested at 2:10 p.m. Monday on a warrant for theft more than $500. The warrants stem from the theft of a cell phone. Francis is awaiting bail to be set.
