Patterson man caught on armed robbery, battery warrants

A 21-year-old Patterson man, who was caught by Franklin police Saturday, is accused in Patterson of having kicked in a door and punched someone in the face and, in a separate incident, of threatening to shoot a woman when he stole her phone, police said.
—Javontrae Levine, 21, of Muggah Street in Patterson, was arrested at 9:30 p.m. Saturday on a warrant for two counts of failure to appear in Third Ward City Court on the charge of careless operation with an accident, two counts of hit and run. Levine was also arrested on warrants for the Patterson Police Department for armed robbery, two counts of simple battery and criminal damage to property. Levine was additionally charged with resisting an officer, Franklin police said in a news release. Levine was jailed with no bail set yet.
The Patterson Police Department warrants stem from a Nov. 2, 2014, incident where Levine was accused of kicking in a door and hitting a person inside in the face, Patterson police said. On Nov. 10, 2014, Levine was accused of stealing a phone after pointing a gun at a woman in Patterson, telling her to give him the phone or he would shoot her, Patterson police said.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported responding to 124 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests:
A 26-year-old Jeanerette woman, who worked as a nurse at the parish jail, was charged Friday after being accused of bringing contraband into the facility, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Tiffany A. Sonnier, 26, of the 2800 block of Dalbor Street in Jeanerette, was arrested at 4:54 p.m. Friday for conspiracy to introduce contraband into a penal institution, possession of Schedule II Adderall, and introduction of contraband into a penal institution.
A deputy at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center developed information that a nurse, contracted to work through a private health care company at the jail, was conspiring to bring contraband into the facility, Hebert said. During the investigation conducted by detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division, Sonnier admitted to conspiring to bring contraband into the facility, Hebert said. During the booking process, Sonnier was also found to be in possession of Adderall pills, Hebert said. No bail is set. The investigation is ongoing, the sheriff said.
—Vincent Gaines, 72, of the 200 block of La. 1014 in Napoleonville, was arrested at 9:42 a.m. Saturday on a warrant from Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on the charges of driving while intoxicated and careless operation of a vehicle. A deputy working Local Agency Compensated Enforcement detail observed a vehicle traveling 55 mph in a 45 mph zone on La. 182 in the Morgan City area, Hebert said.
The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Gaines. The deputy discovered that Gaines held an active warrant for his arrest. The deputy also cited Gaines for speeding and no vehicle insurance, Hebert said. Gaines was jailed and released on $300 bail.
—Charles Robinson, 56, of the 5600 block of North Bayou Black Road in Gibson, was arrested at 7:12 p.m. Saturday on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. A deputy conducted a traffic stop on Wren Street in Morgan City. The deputy made contact with Robinson and learned of the active warrant for his arrest. The deputy released Robinson on a summons to appear in court April 7.
—Perry Ourso, 55, of the 500 block of Teche Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 1:11 a.m. Sunday for attempted theft and criminal damage to property. A deputy responded to a report of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store personnel that a man was seen attempting to steal a TV, Hebert said.
The man produced a tool from his pocket and cut a security wire attached to the television, the sheriff said. The man then fled from the store and drove away from the area, Hebert said. Using a description of the man’s vehicle, the deputy located Ourso at his residence on Teche Road. Ourso was positively identified as the person who attempted to steal the TV, Hebert said. The deputy released Ourso on a summons to appear in court May 12.
—Russell Gant, 36, of the 100 block of 3 B’s Lane in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 2:45 a.m. Sunday for domestic abuse battery. A deputy responded to a residence in Bayou Vista in reference to a report of domestic abuse. The deputy learned that Gant struck a female victim in the face during an argument that occurred inside of a vehicle in the Bayou Vista area, Hebert said. Gant was jailed with bail set at $5,000.
—Leivi J. Alcantara, 29, of the 2700 block of Manson Avenue in Metairie, was arrested at 10:55 a.m. Sunday on a warrant from the State of Florida Department of Corrections for probation violation for the original charge of tampering with evidence. A deputy responded to a request to assist U.S. Customs and Border Protection in apprehending a person wanted on a warrant out of Florida, Hebert said. Alcantara was located at a business on Lake Palourde Road in Amelia and taken into custody without incident. Alcantara was jailed with no bail set.
—Latisha Drexler, 34, of the 100 block of Bagon Lane in Verdunville, was arrested at 1:34 p.m. Sunday for disturbing the peace fighting.
—Martha Bordelon, 55, of the 300 block of Verdun Lane in Verdunville, was arrested at 1:38 p.m. Sunday for disturbing the peace fighting.
A deputy investigating a complaint of a disturbance at a residence on Verdun Lane learned that Drexler and Bordelon were involved in a physical altercation during an argument between the two, Hebert said. Both suspects were jailed and released on $500 bail.
—Ciara Leonard, 27, of the 1200 block of La. 402 in Napoleonville, was arrested at 6:12 p.m. Sunday on a warrant for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court. Leonard turned herself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Bail is set at $100,000.
—Andre Jeter, 27, of the 500 block of Wise Street in Patterson, was arrested at 11:09 p.m. Sunday for disturbing the peace intoxicated. A deputy responded to a location on La. 182 in Bayou Vista in reference to a report of an intoxicated person in a ditch, Hebert said. The deputy observed a man kneeling near the roadway. The deputy made contact with the man and identified him as Jeter, the sheriff said. The deputy learned that Jeter had been drinking alcohol and was attempting to walk home, Hebert said. Jeter was released on a summons to appear in court May 12.
Morgan City Assistant Police Chief Mark Griffin Jr. reported the following arrests:
—Matthew Miller, 21, of Adams Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:15 a.m. Sunday on a warrant for possession of marijuana and a drug court warrant for violation-possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana fifth offense and possession of drug paraphernalia third offense.
A patrolling officer observed Miller, a wanted suspect, at an Adams Street residence and detained him, Griffin said. The officer detected a strong odor of marijuana at the residence and began an investigation. The officer located suspected marijuana along with items of drug paraphernalia and identified by Miller as belonging to him, Griffin said He was jailed.
—Mary Theriot, 49, of Bush Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 8:13 p.m. Friday on a warrant for issuing worthless checks, on a St. Mary Parish warrant for issuing worthless checks and improper lighting.
A patrolling officer stopped a vehicle near Seventh and Marguerite streets after the vehicle was observed with improper lighting, Hebert said. The driver, Theriot, was found to be wanted on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department and St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Department. She was jailed.
—Roger Francis, 32, of Berwick, was arrested at 7:51 p.m. Saturday on a warrant for driving under suspension and a warrant for improper lighting. Francis was located near the intersection of Seventh Street and Brashear Avenue. He was jailed and later released on cash bail.
—Allen P. Hollier, 39, of Roderick Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 12:01 a.m. Sunday for failure to drive right side of roadway, no insurance, operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license and possession of Schedule I MDMA (Ecstasy).
A patrolling officer observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner on La. 182 near Florence Street and stopped the vehicle to investigate. The driver, Hollier, was discovered to be operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license nor motor vehicle insurance. He was arrested. Upon his arrest, officers located a substance which was identified as MDMA-Ecstasy, a Schedule I controlled dangerous substance. He was additionally charged. He was taken to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
—Alejandro Guiterrez, 28, of La. 182 in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:39 a.m. Sunday for possession of Schedule I marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, no driver’s license and improper lane usage.
—Carlos Joanez, 25, of La. 182 in Morgan City, was arrested at 2:39 a.m. Sunday for possession of Schedule I marijuana.
An officer was dispatched to the area of U.S. 90 in regard to a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner, Griffin said. A patrolling officer observed a speeding vehicle, which pulled alongside of the unit and began to travel at 90 mph when it was stopped by the officer, Griffin said.
The driver, Guiterrez, advised the officer that he thought the unit was a friend and attempted to race, Griffin said. Officers located suspected marijuana inside the vehicle after the officer detected a strong smell of marijuana emanating from the vehicle, Griffin said. Guiterrez and Joanez, a passenger in the vehicle, were jailed. Joanez was released on cash bail.
—Leo Harris, 65, of Morgan City, was arrested at 6:58 p.m. Sunday for possession of Schedule I marijuana second offense, improper lighting, possession of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle (open container) and operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license.
A patrolling officer observed a vehicle with improper lighting in the area of La. 182 and 11th Street and stopped the vehicle to speak with the driver, Harris. He was jailed.
—Charles E. Stevens, 23, of Morgan City, was arrested at 9:30 p.m. Sunday for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
An officer conducting a traffic investigation came into contact with a passenger in a vehicle near the intersection of Duke Street and Federal Avenue, Griffin said. The passenger, Stevens, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana along with items of drug paraphernalia. Stevens was jailed and released after posting cash bail.
—Randall M. Lejeune, 53, of Southeast Boulevard in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 12:06 a.m. today on a St. Mary Parish warrant for failure to appear for theft of goods less than $500. Lejeune was located near the intersection of La. 182 and Federal Avenue and jailed.
—Jesus Tenorio, 24, of Amelia, was arrested at 1:27 a.m. today for improper lighting, no driver’s license, possession of open container of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.
A patrolling officer observed a vehicle with improper lighting traveling on La. 182 near Federal Avenue and stopped the vehicle to speak with the driver. Tenorio was jailed.
—Juan Gonzalez, 31, of Berwick, was arrested at 3:15 a.m. today for no driver’s license second offense and improper lighting.
An officer observed a vehicle with improper lighting in the area of Federal Avenue and La. 182 and stopped the vehicle to speak with the driver. The driver, Gonzalez, was jailed.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Jordy Paul Dugas, 26, of the 7600 block of Betty Joe Lane in Broussard, was arrested at 1:51 a.m. Sunday for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, careless operation, suspended driver’s license and on a warrant for another jurisdiction. Dugas was jailed with no bail set yet.
—Casey Jennings, 27, of the 100 block of Enterprise Avenue in Patterson, was arrested at 10:45 p.m. Sunday for simple battery-domestic. Jennings was jailed with no bail set yet.
—Lemarcus Jennings, 28, of the 500 block of Tiffany Street in Patterson, was arrested at 12:21 a.m. today for simple battery-domestic with medical. Jennings was jailed with no bail set yet.
St. Martin Parish Sheriff Ronnie Theriot reported the following arrest relating to east St. Mary Parish:
—Therold James, 30, of the 300 block of Teche Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested on hold for St. Martin Parish.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
