Earl Francis and his wife Lisa McCurtis-Francis were crowned as the first royalty of the Krewe of Grandeur on Feb. 11 at the Patterson Area Civic Center. King and Queen Grandeur I were part of a 14-piece court that represented the theme, “Elegant Evening with Grandeur.” Trainbearers were Ajayce McCurtis, Dehari McCurtis, Dreshon McCurtis and Durell McCurtis Jr.

Jordan Joseph Butler, son of Pamela Simmons and Murphy Butler, was named Patterson High School homecoming king Oct. 29 during the homecoming dance. Desiree Nicole Jones, daughter of Celeste and Donald Jones, was crowned homecoming queen during halftime of the Oct. 28 football game.
