Berwick falls to St. John
The Berwick Panthers fell to St. John of Plaquemine, 57-48, in Plaquemine Tuesday.
While Berwick led 11-5 after the first period, St. John came back in the second half and outscored Berwick 27-11 for a 32-22 halftime lead.

The Eagles responded with a 15-14 scoring advantage in the final period for the final score.
The Panthers struggled at the free-throw line as they hit just nine of 23 attempts.
Kenan Jones led Berwick with 20 points, while Audwin Williams also reached double figures with 12.
Other top scorers included Brandon Naverro with seven and Donald Tillman with four.
Berwick (4-3) will return to action Thursday when it hosts Ascension Episcopal in a 7:30 p.m. contest.
The game, however, will be played at Berwick Junior High due to work being done on the court at the high school, Berwick coach Sean Comeaux said.
Comeaux said the floor would be available again next week and would not force the Panthers to move any more of their home games.
Also, the Panthers’ contest against Highland Baptist, originally scheduled for Monday in New Iberia, has been moved to Jan. 13 and still will be an away game.
