Morgan City beats Ellender 4-1

The Morgan City Lady Tigers knocked off Ellender 4-1 in District 7-4A action in Morgan City Tuesday.
While Ellender took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth, Morgan City plated all of its runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Morgan City outhit Ellender 6-4 in the win.
Offensively, the Tigers were led by Dwanna LeBeau, who finished 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a run; Kennedy Hebert, 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run; and Tyler Hebert, 1-for-3 with a double.
On the mound, Hebert earned the win. In seven innings, she surrendered one earned run on four hits with one walk and fanned five.
Morgan City (11-6 overall, 3-1 in district) will return to action today when it travels to face Patterson in a 4 p.m. contest. The game is a makeup game from an earlier season contest.
Central Catholic
wins doubleheader
Central Catholic swept a doubleheader at Gueydan Tuesday with a 14-2 win in the first game and a 15-0 run-rule win in four innings in the second game.
In game two, Central Catholic scored all of its runs in the second through fourth innings as the Lady Eagles plated five in the second, three in the third and seven more in the fourth to end the game.
Megan Landry tossed a three-hit shutout with seven strikeouts for the win. She walked two in four innings of work.
Offensively, the Lady Eagles had 10 hits.
Taylor Picou led the squad with a 3-for-3 performance with a double, two RBIs and three runs.
Other top contributors included Emma Aucoin, 2-for-3, two stolen bases and three runs; Brooke Lipari, 1-for-1, a double, two RBIs and two runs; Brittany Longman, 1-for-3, two RBIs, a stolen base and two runs; Landry, 1-for-1, two RBIs; Kaitlyn Gros, 1-for-3, two RBIs; and Hallie Autin, 1-for-2, an RBI and two runs.
In game 1, Central Catholic picked up a 14-2 win.
Already ahead 5-1, Central Catholic broke the game open with a six-run sixth inning.
While Gueydan scored a run in the bottom of the sixth, Central Catholic plated three runs in the top of the seventh.
Offensively, the Lady Eagles pounded out 19 hits, including six doubles.
Landry led the Lady Eagles with a 4-for-5 performance with two doubles and two RBIs.
Other top contributors included Aucoin, 2-for-3, an RBI and a run; Picou, 2-for-4, two runs, two stolen bases and an RBI; Gros, 2-for-4, two runs and a stolen base; Lipari and Bridgette Swan, each 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run; Hallie Romero, 2-for-5, a double, an RBI and a stolen base; Autin, 2-for-5, a run and an RBI; and Longman, 1-for-4, a double, a stolen base and three runs
On the mound, Landry tossed a complete game, surrendering two runs — one earned — on five hits with 12 strikeouts.
Central Catholic (17-2, 7-0 in district) will return to action today when it travels to face Vermilion Catholic in a 5 p.m. contest.
Patterson defeats
Franklin
The Patterson Lumberjills run-ruled Franklin 18-0 in District 9-3A action Tuesday.
Patterson (6-11, 2-2) will return to action today when it hosts Morgan City.
