Amedee, Harrison in state House runoff

If state Rep. Joe Harrison wants to keep his legislative post, he'll have to come from behind in a Nov. 21 runoff.

Harrison will meet Terrebonne Parish Council member Beryl Adams Amedee in a Nov. 21 runoff after Saturday's primary election results.

Amedee, like Harrison a Republican, won 3,391 votes, or 41 percent, according to complete but unofficial returns. Harrison got 3,060 votes, or 36 percent.

Democrat Howard J. Castay Jr. got 1,899 votes, or 23 percent.
