Center Theater is coming down

After many years of continual decay, the old Center Theater is in the process of demolition. The Main Street locale has become a hazard to both pedestrians and adjacent buildings, and the Franklin City Council and Mayor Raymond Harris Jr. decided to move on demolition. Long-range plans are to build an open-air amphitheater to be named in memory of Mayci Breaux, the local woman who was killed during the Grand Theater shooting in Lafayette.
