Hospitality awards presented

Two awards were presented in recognition of hospitality workers during the Chamber of Commerce’s annual banquet Thursday at Cypress Bayou Casino. Cajun Coast Visitors & Convention Bureau Director Carrie Stansbury presented the awards to the family of the late Gay Nell Angeron as well as to Jamasian “Macy” Guy as Hospitality Employee of the Year. Gay Nell was a 40-year veteran of the hospitality industry having worked at Shoney’s, Best Western and Holiday Inn. Her relatives, from left above, Danny Donham, Brian Bailey and Casi Rogers accepted the award. Guy, below, works at Cypress Bayou Casino team as a barista at Fresh and waitress at Café Bayou. Stansbury said Macy “has an amazing work ethic and an amazing personality.”
