Houma man killed in head-on crash in Terrebonne Parish

A head-on crash on La. 57 killed a 52-year-old Houma man at about 8:30 p.m. Friday, a Louisiana State Police Troop C news release stated.
State Police said, a 2003 Mazda 6000 was traveling north on La. 57 around box number 2693 in Houma.  The Mazda was being driven by Murphy Babin III, 52, of Houma. 
As the Mazda was traveling north on La. 57, it failed to negotiate a right hand curve.  The Mazda crossed the center line and entered the southbound lane of LA 57 where it struck a 2014 Chrysler 200 head-on, police said.  The Chrysler was being driven by Lloyd Domangue, 68 of Chauvin, police said. 
Babin, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected during the impact and pronounced dead on the scene by a Terrebonne Parish Coroner’s Office representative, police said.
Domangue, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported to Terrebonne General Medical Center with moderate injuries, police said.
Police said impairment is unknown at this time, and routine toxicology tests are pending for Babin.  Blood was taken from Domangue and the test results will be pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab, police said.
