FREEDOM FESTIVAL
American Legion Riders, Post 96, Morgan City, hosting a free Freedom Fest May 24 at Lake End Parkway (near the old judge’s stand), Morgan City. Kicks off with 13th Annual Freedom Ride at 8 a.m. at Morgan City Municipal Auditorium and ends at 10:30 a.m. at Lake End Park. Registration begins at 7 a.m. Ride includes stops at Blue Star Memorial sites within St. Mary Parish to lay wreaths. Ride cost: $15, rider; $10, passenger. Plate lunch included per registrant. Speakers include State Sen. David Vitter and other dignitaries. Music begins at 10:30 a.m. at the park. Also includes car and motorcycle show, inflatable bounce house, face painting, rock wall, fishing (with state license) and more.
