Morgan City 11s to begin state tourney Friday at ULM

The Morgan City 11-year-old All-Stars will begin play in the Louisiana Dixie Youth Majors State Tournament Friday at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

The Morgan City 11-year-old All-Stars won the District 3 title Saturday with a 21-16 victory against Thibodaux. While Morgan City had lost the first game in the best-of-three series, they came back with two straight wins to clinch the title and advance to the state tournament in Monroe this coming weekend. Morgan City 11s win 2 straight, clinch district title

The Morgan City 11-year-old All-Stars rebounded from a rough start two win back-to-back games en route to a district championship at the District 3 Tournament at Peltier Park in Thibodaux Saturday.

The Morgan City 11s won the District 3 championship after earning consecutive wins against Franklin Sunday. In the first game, Morgan City won 10-4, while in the finale, they won 7-3. The Morgan City 11s won the District 3 Tournament at Peltier Park in Thibodaux this weekend, knocking off undefeated Franklin twice Sunday for the title.
