Berwick and Morgan City High schools each won their homecoming contests Friday to highlight area prep football action.
Morgan City will look to build upon its two-game winning streak when it hosts Cohen College Prep for homecoming Friday.
Morgan City Mayor Frank "Boo" Grizzaffi was joined by memebers of the Morgan City High School homecoming court when he signed a proclamation declaring this week as homecoming week. The Tigers football team will take on Cohen College Prep today at 7 p.m. in its homecoming contest. Assumption swept the Morgan City Lady Tiger volleyball team, 3-0 (25-12, 25-5, 25-16), in prep action Wednesday in Napoleonville.

Morgan City overcame Mother Nature Friday night and the North Central Hurricanes, battling the rain, lightning and the St. Landry Parish-based team for a 44-16 win.
