Wanda 'Sue' Curry

Wanda “Sue” Curry, a resident of Natchez, Mississippi, and a native of Patterson and Ferriday, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015. She was 62 years old.
Sue’s enjoyments in life included the following: Coffee, she was a very avid coffee drinker, no less than a pot a day. She always had a Pall Mall cigarette to go along with her cup of coffee. Gardening, she attempted to teach us kids how to do it “her” way and finding it comical when we just didn’t get it. Facebook, she loved being on Facebook. That was her way of keeping up with everyone and what was going on in their lives. The funny part was that she would keep forgetting her passwords and ended up with three different Facebook accounts. But the thing that gave her the most enjoyment in her life were her grandchildren. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her “grandbabies,” that’s what she called them no matter what their age.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hollis and Reba Wallace of Waterproof; and one brother, Eugene Wallace, of Waterproof.
Her survivors include one son and two daughters, Lane Dale Vestal and his wife, Shelby Strong Vestal, of Natchez, Stephanie McCrory and her husband, Billy McCrory, of Natchez and Diane Houghton and Mark Gray, of Natchez; her grandchildren, Natalie Vestal, Aubrey Vestal, Lylah Vestal, Wayne McCrory III, Trace Burke, Brittany Gray and Olivia Gray, all of Natchez, Braxton Gray and Lindsey Nations, both of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and Trent Houghton and Allysa Acosta, both of Patterson; three great-grandchildren, Layton Gray, Noah Houghton and Bennett Gray; two sisters, Selma Gravel, of Brookhaven, Mississippi, and Linda Kay Humphries, of Port Gipson, Mississippi; and two brothers, Donald Wallace, of Thibodaux, and Alton Wallace, of Seattle, Washington.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 7 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 684 U.S. 61, North Natchez, to celebrate her life. For an online condolence, visit www.youngsfh.com.
