WANITA MARIE BOUDREAUX
April 1, 1925 – September 8, 2015
Wanita Marie Boudreaux, 90, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at Southside Gardens in Baton Rouge, La.
She was born April 1, 1925, to A.L. and Loretta Senac Boudreaux in Berwick, La. “Deeda,” as she was called by her family, was a retired music and English teacher as well as a part-time librarian. She graduated from Morgan City High School in 1942, from Northwestern Louisiana University in 1946 and Columbia University in 1953.
She is survived by her sister Patricia Boudreaux Davidson and brother-in-law Paul L. Davidson Jr.; her nieces and nephews Lynn Shelley, Pam Wall, Paul Davidson III, Jan Wall, Judy Owens, Fr. Al Davidson, Sue Hagius, Dale Davidson, Jim Firmin and Aubrey “Copper” Hirsch, along with their spouses, children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Willia Bagot, Rosemary Firmin, Marian Hirsch, Bishop Warren L. Boudreaux and Delmer Boudreaux.
Special thanks to the ladies who cared for her around the clock over the past few years; they were so wonderful to her and a great help to the family.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, September 12, at the Church of the Assumption, 915 Main St., Franklin, La. A wake will be held at the church from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., prior to the funeral service, officiated by her nephew, Fr. Al Davidson at 11 a.m., followed by her burial in the Franklin Cemetery.
