Harry Lee Thomas

Harry Lee Thomas, 68, a native of Shadyside and resident of St. Martinville, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, at his residence in St. Martinville.
He was a veteran of the United States Army receiving an honorable discharge.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Marie Thomas of St. Martinville; two daughters, Isabella White of St. Martinville and Jessie Mae Sandolph of Boutte; a niece he helped raise; four brothers, Wayne Thomas of Verdunville, Ricky Thomas of Centerville, Ron Hawkins of Wichita, Kansas, and John Hawkins of Amarillo, Texas; three sisters, Margaret Faye Coleman and Greta Francis, both of Baldwin and Karen Gier of Bayou Vista; four sisters-in-law; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, two sisters, a nephew he helped raise, his father- and mother-in-law, and one brother-in-law.
Visitation will be observed Saturday at Jones Funeral Home in Franklin from 11 a.m. until the funeral service at 1 p.m. Bishop Alvin Davis will officiate the services. Burial with military honors will follow funeral services in the Nazarene Cemetery in Verdunville.
