JOE PARKER JR.

Funeral services for Mr. Joe Parker, Jr., 81 will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015 at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Panola Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday night at the funeral home. Mr. Parker died Oct. 11, 2015 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Mr. Joe Bailey Parker, Jr. was born Oct. 25, 1933 in Trinity, Texas. He was the only child born to the marriage of Joe Bailey and Bertie Rosellia Norsworthy Parker. Joe was raised and schooled in Trinity graduating high school there. He attended Sam Houston State University to study vocational agriculture. Joe served his country through the U.S. Navy.
He married Peggy Lynn Davis in 1956 and they celebrated 37 years together and raised two children before she preceded him in death in 1993. Mr. Parker retired from United Gas Pipeline as an area superintendent after 37 years of service.
Mr. Parker is survived by his children, JoLynn Parker-Guillory and husband Gus of the Reeves Community, William Terrell Parker and wife Lisa of Carthage, grandchildren, Iesha Boudreaux and husband Jason of Franklin, LA, Joseph Guillory of Reeves Community, Aaron Clements and husband Toby of Centerville, LA, Hailey Faucheaux and husband Curt of Thibodaux, LA, Terilyn Harrington and husband Reed of Abbyville, LA, great grandchildren, Alexia, Adam, Jade, Joram and Jeanvieve, other relatives and a host of friends.
