Jose Jesus Hernandez

Jose Jesus Hernandez was born in Guanajuato, Mexico, to Porfirio and Gloria Hernandez, and was a longtime resident of St. Mary Parish. Jose passed away Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, at his residence in Ricohoc at the age of 55.
Jose was a hardworking man, a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was a great provider for his family, working at Gulf Craft as a welder for many years. He was dedicated to his job and quite good at it. In his spare time, he enjoyed being on the water fishing, loving his grandbaby, Hallowed, and cheering for his LSU football; as an avid fan he never missed a game. Jose will be missed by all who loved this wonderful man.
Jose is survived by his wife, Beverly Ellen Hernandez of Liberty, Mississippi; his daughter, Gloria Hernandez and her husband, Hallowed Boatner, of Shreveport; his grandbaby, Hallowed; godchildren, Karah Whitmore of Lettsworth and Derick Labry of Patterson; an aunt, Rose Farrar of Liberty, Mississippi; a brother-in-law, Brian Coody; his fathers-in-law, Johnny and wife, Verlie Hamilton, of Brusly, and Secundino Cabarrubia of Liberty, Mississippi; two brothers, Martin Hernandez and Gonzales Hernandez of Mexico; a sister, Angela Hernandez of Iowa; and family friends, Sammy and Tammy Torres of Ricohoc.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Porfirio and Gloria Hernandez; mother-in-law, Annie β€œAnn” Cabarrubia; and sister, Virginia Hernandez.
Visitation will be observed today, Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Thursday in Woodville, Mississippi, at 1 p.m. in the Messenger Cemetery.
