CYRILL STANLEY AUCOIN

June 13, 1921-November 15, 2015
Cyrill Stanley Aucoin, 94, a native of Bayou Chene and longtime resident of Amelia, Louisiana, passed away November 15, 2015, at his home.
He was a Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Corps during World War II, a tug boat captain, crew boat owner, and avid outdoorsman that liked to hunt, fish, trap and raise cattle. He loved large family gatherings for holidays and special occasions.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Mae Barrilleaux Aucoin; his parents, Eveline LaCoste Aucoin and John Webster Aucoin; one son, Robert Joseph Aucoin; three grandchildren, Terry Gagliano, Jeremy Aucoin and Jessica Grow; and two great-grandsons. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Albert Aucoin; and one sister, Era Aucoin Deslatte Mayfield.
Cyrill is survived by eight children, Brenda Aucoin Gagliano (Carlo) of Bayou L’Ourse, Dolores Aucoin Scadlock of Lafayette, Nicholas Joseph Aucoin (Darlene) of Patterson, Lois Aucoin Williamson (Jody) of Maurice, Timothy John Aucoin Sr. (Diana), Melvin Lee Aucoin (Denise), Luke Stanley Aucoin (Susan), and Peggy Aucoin Lovell (Curtis), all of Amelia.
Cyrill is also survived by 24 surviving grandchildren, Carlo Gagliano Jr., Faith Ann Estay, Rebecca Scadlock, John Scadlock, Tina Robertson, Andy Scadlock, Renee’ Tardiff, Brian Williamson, Adrienne Ball, Tiffany Upshaw, Sharon Courville, Nicole Aucoin, Timothy Aucoin Jr. (TJ), Tamara Aucoin, Tonya Hills, Tabitha Tyler, Lee Aucoin, Lacey Delco, John Aucoin, Jacob Aucoin, Bobby Aucoin, Barry Aucoin, Amy Vaughn, and Angela Goodwin, as well as 65 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
He is survived by two brothers, Eugene Aucoin of Chicot, and August Aucoin of Gibson; and one sister, Sylvania Aucoin Verret of Amelia.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015, at Hargrave Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Visitation will resume at Pharr Chapel United Methodist Church Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral Services will begin at 1 p.m. at Pharr Chapel. The East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad will conduct full military graveside honors.
Cyrill will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
