CHARLES EDWARD PEARCE
October 8, 1925-November 15, 2015
Charles Edward Pearce, a native of Bayou Chene and a longtime resident of Bayou Vista, went to his heavenly reward Nov. 15, 2015, at the age of 90.
Charles was known to all as a man after God’s own heart, a kind man who truly gave his all to any one in need.
He was a charter member of Bayou Vista Baptist Church, a longtime member of Gideon’s International, and a Master Mason for over 65 years. He also served on the Board of Directors of Acadian Baptist Center. Charles was the first lay choir director of Bayou Vista Baptist Church. A welder by trade, he was the oldest practicing welder of The Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 198.
Charles leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 62 years, Glynn Ward Pearce; a daughter, Karen Gillen and husband Lee; four sons, Carlton Pearce and wife Shelia, Milton Pearce, Dale Pearce and David Pearce; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Christine Kelly Pearce; and a sister, Rita Pearce Miller.
A home going celebration will be held at Bayou Vista Baptist Church Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., with services beginning at 11 a.m.
