IRVIN BOY 'DOO BOY' VOISIN SR.

August 16, 1940 -December 5, 2015
Irvin Boy “Doo Boy” Voisin Sr., 75, a resident of Labadieville, passed away Dec. 5, 2015, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was a retired boat captain after 50-plus years of working on the waters.
He was born Aug. 16, 1940, in Charenton, Louisiana, the son of Hiram “Deet” Voisin and Josephine Elma Voisin.
Irvin was a devout Christian of Cornerstone Assembly of God in Thibodaux. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching western shows, but his true passion was cooking for everyone. His memory will be treasured by all that knew and loved him.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Katherine Janice Voisin of Labadieville; one daughter, Traci Voisin Landry and husband, Jeremy, of Labadieville; one son, Michael Voisin Brady of Prairieville; four stepchildren, Becky Segura of New Iberia, Scotty Segura and wife, Laurie, of Loreauville, Rusty Segura and wife, Scarlett, of Loreauville, and Kimberly Segura of Patterson; two sisters, Loretta Powell and husband, Doug, of Morgan City, and Doris Chaisson of Morgan City; one sister-in-law, Elaine Voisin; along with a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, as well as brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram “Deet” Voisin and Josephine Elma Voisin; one son, Irvin Voisin Jr.; one brother, Jessie Voisin; a brother-in-law, Lamar Chaisson; and a close and dear friend/cousin, Gerald Anslum.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, at Twin City Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at Twin City Funeral Home with visitation resuming from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Following services, Irvin will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
