DOROTHY ‘DOT’ LANDRY BRAUD

Funeral services for Dorothy “Dot” Landry Braud will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville during an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial. Father Ruben Primor will be the Celebrant for the Mass. She will be laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery Mausoleum. Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Bertrand, Sherman Braud, Dr. Brandon Braud, DDS, Harry Landry, Hughes Braud and Peter Scully.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday at the church beginning at 9 a.m., with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10 a.m.
Dot, as she was affectionately known, was a native of Ricohoc and a resident of Verdunville for the past 47 years. She passed away at the age of 90 on Monday, January 11, 2016, her 69th wedding anniversary, following a lengthy illness.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald C. Braud Sr.; one daughter, Lisa Braud Bertrand and her husband, Tom, of Franklin; two sons, Gerald C. Braud Jr. and his wife, Ann, of Ore City, TX and Michael P. Braud and his wife, Darlene, of The Woodlands, TX; one brother, Harry Landry of Bayou Sale; one sister, Nell Hopkins of Charenton; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Duval Landry and Myrtle Bourgeois Landry; two brothers, Roy Landry and Gerald Landry; and three sisters, Marian King, Elizabeth Jackson and Victoria “Vickie” Parr.
