GENEVIEVE 'GEE' THERESA SETTOON

Genevieve “Gee” Theresa Settoon, 93, a longtime resident of Morgan City and a recent resident of Belle River, passed away Thursday, Nov. 26, 2015, at 2:30 p.m. at Plaquemine Caring Center.
Born in Bayou Pigeon to Archie and Amelia Settoon, Genevieve was a beloved daughter and sister. She worked for most of her life in management with The Morgan City Motel.
She is survived by her brother, Irvin Settoon Sr.; two sisters-in-law, Grace and Shirley Settoon; and 23 nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, Alvin, Sterling, Marshall, Dudley, Albert “Beat,” Fred and George (died in infancy); and two sisters, Alverida “Alverta” Gros and Anna Mae (died in infancy).
Visitation was held at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and continued today, Monday, Nov. 30, 2015, from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Pierre Part at 11 a.m. Interment followed in White Castle Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Russ Settoon, Scott Settoon, Jeffery Settoon, Irvin Settoon Jr., Mertile Settoon, Ferdinand Settoon, Wally Settoon, and Chris Settoon. Honorary pallbearers will be Irvin Settoon Sr., Calvert Callegan, and Morris Settoon.
The family would like to thank all the nurses, techs and staff of the Plaquemine Caring Center, Comfort Care Hospice, and the Morgan City Nursing Home for taking care of her.
