ARTIE MAE TABOR

December 30, 1932- January 12, 2016
Artie Mae Tabor, a native of Bayou L’Ourse and resident of Amelia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, at her residence while surrounded by her family. She was 83 years old.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 59 years, Buck Tabor of Amelia; one son, Kevin Tabor of Palm Springs, California; six siblings, Hillary Theriot and his wife, Greta, Marcia Dupre and her husband, Wade, Eugene Theriot and his wife, Teresa, Wilfred Theriot and his wife, Dolores, Gary Theriot and his wife, Dianne, and Donna Landry, her final caregiver.
She was reunited in heaven by her parents, Julian and Julia Theriot; and her brother, Warren Theriot Sr.
Artie Mae was a loyal worker for South Central Bell, now AT&T, where she retired after years of devoted service. Artie Mae was a dedicated parishioner of St. Andrew Catholic Church.
In her spare time, she enjoyed playing Bingo, visiting the casino, and tending to her garden. She was a loving wife, mother, and sister, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family requests that visitation be observed Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, from 10 a.m. until time of services at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Amelia with a Mass of Christian Burial taking place at noon. Artie Mae will be laid to rest in the St. Andrew Church Cemetery following Mass.
