Robbery, battery suspect caught

A 19-year-old Bayou Vista man was charged Wednesday for his role in a drug-related robbery and beating of two men earlier this month in Centerville, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release.
—Kaleb Calloway, 19, of the 100 block of Sun Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 2:16 p.m. Wednesday on warrants charging him with second-degree robbery, simple battery and distribution of synthetic cannabinoids.
With the assistance of the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office, detectives of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division located Calloway at a home in St. Martin Parish.
Calloway was booked into parish jail.
The warrant for second-degree robbery and simple battery was obtained following an investigation into a possible battery at a home in Centerville earlier this month. John Buck Jr., 29, who also is wanted on a warrant in that case, remains at large. Buck’s last known address is Ricohoc Drive in Ricohoc.
Blake Wain, 19, of Centerville, and Arnette Brashear, 18, of Lafayette, were arrested March 1 in connection with the robbery. The four suspects are alleged to have beaten two men during a drug-related robbery at Wain’s home. The suspects broke one victim’s jaw during the incident, Hebert said.
Calloway’s warrant charging him with synthetic cannabinoids is part of the Spring Cleaning operation conducted by the Narcotics Division.

Hebert reported responding to 34 complaints in the parish and reported the following arrests in east St. Mary Parish:
—Arthur Cole, 58, of the 7200 block of U.S. 90 East in Morgan City, was arrested at 10:19 p.m. Wednesday on the charges of driving under suspension and license plate lights required.
A deputy assigned to patrol Siracusa observed a vehicle traveling on James Street without an illuminated license plate and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, Cole, was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Cole was released on a summons to appear in court May 27.
Morgan City Police Chief James Blair reported the following arrests:
—Tonisheka M. Davis, 33, of Robin Street in Morgan City, was arrested at 4:53 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for contempt of court. Davis was arrested in the 6th Ward Morgan City Court in regard to an active arrest warrant. Davis was jailed.
—Nicole M. Fisher, 44, of Muggah Street in Patterson, was arrested at 7:48 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft by shoplifting.
Fisher was transported from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office jail to the Morgan City Police Department in regard to an active arrest warrant held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Fisher was booked into the Morgan City Jail.
Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrests:
—Nicole Fisher, 44, of the 100 block of Muggah Street in Patterson, was arrested at 7:48 p.m. Wednesday on St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office warrants for failure to appear on the charge of theft of goods under $500, failure to appear on the charge of failure to obey traffic at signal, expired motor vehicle inspection sticker, driving under suspension and on a Morgan City police warrant charging her with theft by shoplifting first offense. Fisher was transferred to parish jail with no bail set yet.
—Bryan Kell, 44, of the 100 block of Muggah Street in Patterson, was arrested at 7:48 p.m. Wednesday on the charges of possession of marijuana in a school zone and possession of drug paraphernalia. No bail is set yet.
Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
