ASHLEY JOSEPH GUIDRY

November 2, 1919- March 29, 2016
Ashley Joseph Guidry, 96, a resident of Bayou Vista, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at Teche Regional Medical Center.
Ashley was born Nov. 2, 1919, in Houma, the son of Francois Guidry and Alzina Domangue Guidry.
Ashley was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a Staff Sergeant during World War II, serving his country for nine years. During his nine-year tour, he received numerous medals and commendations including a silver star and bronze star medal while serving under Gen. Patton.
He was a member of the Patterson Church of God of Prophecy where he was a great worker in the church until his health declined. He was also a deacon with the church and was an article writer for the church newspaper, The White Wing Messenger.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Faith Belanger Guidry of Bayou Vista; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ashley was preceded in death by his parents, Francois and Alzina Domangue Guidry; four brothers, Druby Guidry, R.J. Guidry, Duey Guidry and James Guidry; and one sister, Joyce Cunningham.
A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2016, at Twin City Funeral Home with the funeral service beginning at 11 a.m., officiated by the Rev. John Istre. Following funeral services, Ashley will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
