RITA P. LAFLEUR

Rita Pierce Lafleur, 82, a native of Amelia and resident of Bayou Vista, passed away at approximately 8:30 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2016, at her home.
She served as vice chairman on the Louisiana Cemetery Board for several years during her 11-plus years with the board, and held many offices in the state and local level of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the St. Mary Women’s Republican Club.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, John D. Lafleur Jr. of Bayou Vista, two daughters, Judy Miller of Indianapolis and Diane Miller Fears of Bayou Vista; a son, Guy Miller Jr. of Tennessee; two stepsons, Jerral Lafleur and Richard Lafleur, both of Kinder; two stepdaughters, Tammy Perkins of Kirbyville, Texas and Marylin Pelican of Kinder; two brothers, Jim Pierce Sr. of Bayou Vista and Wesley Pierce of Covington; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, a stepson and a brother.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morgan City. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 2 p.m.
