ALBERT JULES HEBERT

May 6, 1936-March 30, 2016
Albert Jules Hebert, 79, a resident of Bayou Vista, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Ochsner Medical Center.
Albert was born May 6, 1936, in Bayou Boeuf, the son of Horace and Gertrude Gautreaux Hebert.
Albert was a faithful parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church where he was very active and involved in his church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Bayou Vista No. 6211, where he was a 4th Degree Knight and was very proud of that.
He was an avid fan of the LSU Tigers, but especially loved the LSU Baseball team. When he wasn’t watching LSU games, Albert could be found watching old westerns. He could often times be found outside tending to his vegetable garden.
Albert served his country proudly in the United States Army. He also served on the Bayou Vista Public Water District for many years.
Of all the things that Albert did in his life, he loved spending time with his family, but especially loved spoiling and teasing his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of almost 55 years, Josefa “Peggy” Hebert of Bayou Vista; two daughters, Gerlinde Frentz of Bayou Vista, and Helen Rentrop and husband, Jaret, of Patterson; two sons, Gregory Hebert and wife, Barbara, of Oak Harbor, Washington, and Mark Hebert and wife, Sherryann, of Houma; seven grandchildren, Brice Fabre and wife Patricia, Ryan Fabre and wife Van, Adam Rentrop and wife Amy, Justin Hebert and wife Elizabeth, Julia Hebert, Jennifer Hebert, and Shane Mitchell; four great-grandchildren, Brianna Fabre, Harley Fabre, Layla Hooks and Alexandra Fabre; and three sisters, Olive Arceneaux, Marilyn Cornes and Beverly Vetter.Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Hebert and Gertrude Gautreaux Hebert; and two brothers, Herbert Hebert and Raymond Hebert.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gregory Hebert, Jaret Rentrop, Brice Fabre, Ryan Fabre, Adam Rentrop and Justin Hebert.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2016, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church Parish Hall with visitation resuming from 7 a.m. until dismissal time on Saturday in the parish hall.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church with the Rev. Bill Rogalla celebrating.
Following Mass, Albert will be laid to rest in the Berwick Cemetery Mausoleum.
