Funeral services for Albert Junior Mayon will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2016, in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Clay Vance officiating. Committal services will follow at Butter Cemetery in Forest Hill under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home in Oakdale.
Albert, 76, of Forest Hill, entered eternal rest Sunday, April 17, 2016, in Forest Hill. He was born Jan. 29, 1940, in Morgan City, to the union of Evert Mayon and Eva Mason Mayon. He was a Catholic by faith, and a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Nancy Mayon of Forest Hill; three sons, Carl (Faye) Mayon of Bayou Vista, Chris Mayon of Morgan City, and Rodney (Betty) Mayon of Conroe, Texas; three daughters, Andria (Donald) Sherwood of Forest Hill, Kimberly (OK) Willis of Oakdale, and Donna (Shane) Morris of Forest Hill; two stepsons, Jason Hanks of Florida and Curtis (Anna) Hanks of Patterson; one stepdaughter, Carron Johnson of Arkansas; one brother, Dannie Mayon of Sulphur; one sister, Eva Rogers of Morgan City; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held at White Oaks Memorial Chapel today, Tuesday, April 19, 2016, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., then Wednesday, April 20, 2016, from 9 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. in the chapel.
