BETTY BOUDREAUX VERRET

Funeral services celebrating the life of Betty Boudreaux Verret will be held Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, during a 12 p.m. Mass of Christian burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin. Celebrant for the Mass will be Fr. Gregory Cormier, with Fr. Cedric Sonnier and Fr. Bill Melancon con-celebrating. Also assisting with the Mass will be Deacons Harry Darce, Gerald Bourg, Ricky Picard, and Clinton Thomas. She will be laid to rest in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday at Sacred Heart from 10 a.m. until time of Mass, with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 11 a.m.
Mrs. Betty was a native and lifelong resident of Baldwin who passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2014, one day before her 84th birthday. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, where she taught Catechism and served for various times as Director of Religious Education. She was also a dedicated and hard-working volunteer, board member and president of the Center of Hope Board of Directors in Centerville for over 40 years, and also served on the Arc of Louisiana State Board. But most importantly, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who loved her family and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her two children, Monty Verret and his wife Mary and Jeanette Firmin; four grandchildren, Jacinta Verret and her partner Norma Troquille, Amanda Bourgoyne and her husband Chris, Jason Verret and his wife Elizabeth, and Melissa Firmin; four great grandchildren, Michael Bourgoyne, Garrett Bourgoyne, Isabella Verret, and Lucien Naquin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Drolen L. Verret; two sons, Kirk Gerard Verret and Mark Anthony Verret; her parents, Justile Boudreaux and Elda Naquin Boudreaux; six brothers, Edward “Mule”, Mitchell, Roosevelt, Alvin, Johnny, and Daniel “Pete” Boudreaux; and two sisters, Mabel B. Darce and Amy B. Landry.
Serving as pallbearers will be Monty Verret, Jacinta Verret and her partner Norma Troquille, Amanda Bourgoyne and her husband Chris, Jason Verret and his wife Elizabeth, Melissa Firmin, Michael Bourgoyne, Garrett Bourgoyne, Isabella Verret, and Lucien Naquin.
