BETTY MAE DOUCET MAY

Memorial services were held Monday, January 18, 2016, at 11 a.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin for Mrs. Betty Mae Doucet May. Inurnment followed in the Franklin Cemetery Mausoleum. Father Lloyd Benoit officiated the services. A gathering of family and friends was held Monday at Ibert’s beginning at 9 a.m.
Betty was a native and resident of Franklin who passed away at the age of 82 on Thursday, January 14, 2016, at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed cooking, her flower garden, tending to her home, and spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her four children, Brenda M. Latiolais and her husband, Curtis; Edwin May and his wife, Mary; Sandra M. McLean, and Gary May; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivy May Jr.; her parents, Eloie Doucet Sr. and Effie Parrah Doucet; and eight siblings, Cecile Freeman, Elnora Bernard, Gloria Frederick, Hazel Theriot, Audrey Caro, E.J. Doucet, Eloie Doucet Jr. and Edwin Doucet.
