CLARENCE WALTON 'SONNY' INMAN
Sonny, age 91, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, a former resident of Centerville, Louisiana, and a current resident of Springfield, Louisiana.
Sonny served in the United States Navy and Seabees in World War II. He worked for Shell Oil for 30-plus years.
Sonny was an incredible, hardworking, and competitive man with many hobbies. He built, by hand, a camp on the water at the beach. Sonny could be found fishing, floundering, jerry rigging, or setting crab traps. He also enjoyed playing the harmonica, tinkering around, and spending time with his friends. Sonny was very passionate about all he did, but he always placed time with his family first.
Sonny is survived by his son, Clay Inman Sr. and wife Mickey; daughter, Mary Beth Aquila; and son-in-law, Gabriel S. Kora Jr. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael Inman Jr. and wife April, Christine Richardson and husband Preston, Craig Inman and wife Kimberly, Daniel Inman and fiancée Laura DiMattia, Si Kora and wife Kimberly, Rebecca Cooper and husband Troy, Dorothy Locascio and husband Donald, Ben Kora, and Jacob Kora; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Therese Allain Inman; sister, Dorothy Inman Ball; and daughter, Therese Inman Kora.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all of Sonny’s caregivers and Americacare Hospice.
Funeral services were held from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home in Hammond, today, Monday, Dec. 7, 2015, from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment followed in St. Margaret Catholic Cemetery.
