GERALDINE ‘GERRY’ RENER

Mrs. Geraldine “Gerry” Rener, 77, a resident and native of Jeanerette, died Thursday, March 31, 2016, at 9:45 a.m., at her residence following a short illness. She was a retired Iberia Parish school teacher.
Visitations will be observed Friday, April 8, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Jeanerette. AKA Sorority (Ivy Beyond The Wall) Ceremony at 10:30 a.m.
Burial rites will be read Friday, at 11 a.m., at the church, with the Rev. Arthur L. Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Derrick (Ora) Rener of Arlington, TX; two daughters, Naomi Rener Harding and Cheryl Rener Hawkins, both of Jeanerette; one brother, Robert (Carolyn) Wooten of Baton Rouge; one sister, Cornelia Butler of Baton Rouge; one daughter-in-law, Minerva Alexander Rener of Jeanerette; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lois Wooten; her husband, Carlton Rener Sr.; one son, Carlton Rener; and son-in-law, Barry Harding.
The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
