LAWRENCE ‘RED BOY’ HARRIS SR.
Lawrence “Red Boy” Harris, Sr., 75, a native of Franklin and resident of Morgan City, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2015, at 10:38 a.m., at his residence.
Visitation will be observed on Saturday, December 5, at New Zorah Baptist Church in Morgan City, from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 2 p.m., with Pastor Terry L. Joseph Sr. officiating the services. Burial will follow services in the Morgan City Cemetery in Morgan City.
Memories of “Red Boy,” as he was known to all, will forever be remembered and cherished in the hearts of his loving wife, Alice G. Harris of Morgan City; six sons, Lawrence Harris Jr. (Cheryl) of Abbeville; Warren Harris of Lake Charles; Kelvin Harris of Houston, TX; Patrick Harris (Tasha) of Lafayette; Alvin Irvin (Ina) of Patterson; and Harry Irvin of Morgan City; four daughters, Mrs. Milton (Rose Harris) James of Baldwin, Mrs. Rogers (Catheryn) Washington of Franklin, Ruby Bartley of Morgan City and Mrs. Jerome (Cheryl) Howard of Houma; one brother, Alfred “Caveman” Harris of Kentwood, LA; one sister, Mrs. Timothy (Joyce Harris) Matthews of Morgan City; 30 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his mother and father; four brothers, one sister, two children, and three grandchildren.
