LIONEL ‘T-FROG’ MATTHEWS

Lionel “T. Frog” Matthews Jr., 51, a resident and native of Jeanerette, La., passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015, at the Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia, La., at 3:45 p.m.
Visitation will be observed from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2015, with a rosary being recited at 10 a.m. at the Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 11200 Old Jeanerette Road, Jeanerette, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dismas Mauk, SVD serving as the Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery in Jeanerette.
Memories of “T-Frog,” as he was known to many, will forever be remembered and cherished in the hearts of his son, Lionel Matthews III and his step-son, Michael Lewis, both of Lafayette; his father, Lionel Mathews Sr. of Jeanerette; his former wife, Denise Matthews of Lafayette; his aunts, his uncles, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Lionel Jr. was preceded in death by his mother, a sister, as well as both his maternal and paternal grandparents.
